Synopsis
Koharu Satou has earned a reputation among her peers as the "unattainable flower," characterized by her aloof demeanor and a perpetually serious expression that keeps her classmates at bay. Little do they know, behind this façade lies a shy and clumsy girl who struggles with even the simplest tasks, like photographing the delectable treats at her family's café for social media.
When Souta Oshio inadvertently discovers Satou’s true nature, a unique friendship begins to blossom. United by their mutual interests in photography and desserts, they slowly peel back each other's layers, revealing their vulnerabilities and insecurities. This delightful romantic comedy captures the journey of two socially awkward individuals as they learn to embrace their quirks and, in the process, develop a heartwarming connection that is both sweet and relatable.
Otaku Consensus
Early reception finds Tezuka Productions’ pleasing visual presentation and the tightly centered two-lead chemistry most effective when photography and café work give the romantic beats something concrete to play against. The chief criticism is an execution that pushes its cuteness too insistently, creating the sense that it is trying to manufacture sweetness; with a 6.89 MyAnimeList score from only 132 votes, however, this remains a provisional verdict on an airing series.
Why You Should Watch
Watch this if you want a school romance driven by shared interests rather than ensemble chaos or fantasy machinery. Photography gives the central relationship a visual language for noticing small details, while desserts and café work turn courtship into tangible activities instead of interchangeable classroom chatter. The comedy draws its energy from the gap between polished appearances and painfully imperfect private behavior: awkward pauses and minor failures matter more than spectacle. Tezuka Productions supplies a clean, inviting surface, while an opening performed by Masayoshi Ooishi and an ending involving HoneyWorks promise the buoyant musical identity expected of a modern rom-com. It best suits viewers looking for a concentrated boy-girl pairing, a primarily teenage cast, and food or workplace texture alongside school life. Viewers resistant to heavily engineered cuteness may find the emotional hand too visible.
Key Characters
- KKoharu Satou(VA: Miku Itou)
Koharu refreshes the familiar kuudere mold by making her intimidating composure less a superpower than a fragile social performance vulnerable to mundane, comedic failure.
- SSouta Oshio(VA: Hiiro Ishibashi)
Souta works as a participant-observer rather than a blank romantic surrogate, with his interest in photography giving him a concrete perspective through which to understand another person.
