The Ocean Waves

In Kouchi, high schooler Taku Morisaki is pulled from his routine when his friend Yutaka Matsuno urges him to come to school right away. There, Matsuno introduces Rikako Muto, a striking transfer student from Tokyo. Despite excelling in both academics and sports, Rikako’s sharp manner keeps most classmates at a distance, leaving her with few connections beyond Matsuno and one other girl in their class.

A chance moment during a class trip draws Taku into Rikako’s private troubles, stirring tension with Matsuno. As Taku tries to protect a longtime friendship while grappling with a growing attraction, he’s forced to confront complicated feelings—and the lingering weight of Rikako’s past.
