Only Yesterday

Taeko Okajima, a 27-year-old independent woman who has always lived in Tokyo, takes a break from the city’s constant pace by traveling to the countryside to help her relatives during the harvest. As the train carries her away from urban life, she finds herself slipping into vivid recollections of her school days—memories of early adolescence that feel as immediate as sharing the trip with her younger self.

At her destination, Taeko is met by Toshio, a young farmer, and an easy friendship begins to form. Surrounded by family and new companions, she experiences the rhythms of rural living and the demanding, rewarding realities of farm work, while reflecting on the distance between the hopes she once held and the life she has built. *Only Yesterday (Omoide Poroporo)* unfolds as a gentle, bittersweet portrait of adulthood shaped by the lingering presence of childhood.
