Mao Onigawara, an upbeat eight-year-old, carries the unique distinction of being the granddaughter of the Chief of Staff of the Ground Defense Force. Armed with a whimsical cloverleaf-shaped badge that allows her to transform—though devoid of any real powers—Mao is determined to protect Japan alongside her close friends, who are also granddaughters of high-ranking military officials from the Air and Marine Defense Forces.
