In Stern Bild City, superpowered individuals known as NEXT can choose to use their abilities for heroism or crime. A select roster of NEXT heroes operates in the public eye through Hero TV, where capturing villains is part civic duty, part spectacle—earning Hero Points and sponsor-backed recognition in the race to be crowned King of Heroes.

Kotetsu T. Kaburagi, the seasoned “Wild Tiger,” finds his standing slipping after a rough season, hampered in part by his difficulty working alongside others. He’s reassigned to partner with a newcomer who introduces himself plainly as Barnaby Brooks Jr., soon dubbed “Bunny” by Tiger. With clashing personalities and approaches, the mismatched duo must figure out how to function as a team—both to stay relevant and to confront the growing dangers stirring within Stern Bild.
