Achiga Girls’ Academy in Nara once pulled off a major upset against regional mahjong giant Bansei High School, pushing all the way to the national team semifinals before falling to the eventual champions. Not long after that run, the school’s mahjong club quietly disappeared.

Years later, Shizuno Takakamo meets Nodoka Haramura, a transfer student who quickly becomes her close friend. They both enroll at Achiga, but Nodoka transfers away during their second year. When Shizuno later spots Nodoka on television as the national middle school individual mahjong champion, it sparks a clear goal: bring back Achiga’s mahjong club and chase the stage they once reached.
