Staz Charlie Blood reigns over the Eastern District of the Demon World, feared as a ruthless vampire—though the truth is far less sinister. More otaku than overlord, he has little interest in human blood and prefers to leave day-to-day rule to his subordinates while he lounges around with anime, manga, and games.

Everything changes when Fuyumi Yanagi, a Japanese schoolgirl, stumbles into the Demon World through a portal. Staz is thrilled to meet a real human and finds himself unexpectedly drawn to her, but an attack on his territory leads to Fuyumi’s sudden death, leaving her as a ghost. Determined to bring her back—while also chasing his long-held wish to visit the human world—Staz sets out with Fuyumi, later joined by the spatial magician Bell and the half-werewolf Wolf, in search of a way to restore her to life.
