Kakeru and Suguru are brothers bound by the same burning love of soccer. While Suguru climbs the ranks as a standout in Japan’s youth system, Kakeru steps back from playing after struggling on the field and takes on a managerial role instead. A sudden twist of fate forces Kakeru to reconsider the path he chose and what he truly wants from the sport.

Determined to reach the World Cup by earning a place on the national team, Kakeru throws himself into training with relentless focus. Pushing him forward is Nana, his childhood friend and a gifted player known as the “Little Witch,” already competing at the top level with Nadeshiko Japan, the Japanese women’s national team. With school life, teamwork, and ambition colliding on and off the pitch, The Knight in the Area follows Kakeru’s drive to rise to the challenge.
