Pressed by general manager Kousei Gotou, the board makes a bold—and controversial—choice: bringing in Takeshi Tatsumi, an offbeat new manager with a complicated history at the club. Once praised as a talented player, Tatsumi left ETU behind years ago, but later built a reputation by guiding a lower-division amateur team in England. Now he returns to a club that brands him a traitor and faces rivals with deeper pockets, insisting he knows how to topple the giants.
