Raised amid relentless warfare, former child soldier Jonathan “Jonah” Mar has come to despise guns and the people who profit from them. Circumstances shift when Koko Hekmatyar—an international arms dealer—hires him as part of her protection detail, forcing him to carry the very weapons he loathes. Surrounded by a team of bodyguards largely made up of ex–special operations veterans, Jonah is pulled into guarding Koko and the surprisingly idealistic vision of peace she insists on pursuing.

Operating through the shipping company HCLI, Koko and her crew move from country to country brokering weapons deals with national forces, private militaries, and militias. With her trade violating international law, she must stay a step ahead of local crackdowns and global scrutiny alike—especially from the CIA—while threats close in from every direction. In a world of ambushes and betrayals, Jonah’s unit fights to keep Koko alive long enough to see her plan through.
