Synopsis
On a memorable summer night in 2006, brothers Mutta and Hibito Nanba spot what they take to be a UFO headed for the Moon. The sight sparks a shared vow to become astronauts—Hibito sets his sights on the Moon, while Mutta, determined to stay a step ahead as the older sibling, declares he’ll go to Mars.
Years later, adulthood hasn’t followed Mutta’s plan. He’s working steadily at an automotive company as Hibito closes in on becoming the first Japanese man to walk on the Moon. When Mutta suddenly loses his job, an unexpected opening appears: JAXA accepts his application for the next round of astronaut selection. Facing lingering doubts but unwilling to let the moment pass, Mutta throws himself into the demanding road toward the promise the brothers made long ago.
