Urusei Yatsura

Ataru Moroboshi isn’t known for much beyond his wandering eye—except for a streak of spectacular bad luck. When Earth is put on the line by an invading alien force called the Oni, he’s abruptly chosen to defend humanity in a one-on-one challenge. The showdown turns out to be a simple game of tag, pitting Ataru against Lum, the Oni leader’s daughter, whose pride proves to be her weak point when Ataru snatches her bikini top and claims an unlikely win.

The trouble only escalates afterward: Lum misinterprets Ataru’s vow to marry his girlfriend, Shinobu Miyake, as a proposal meant for her. Taking the misunderstanding to heart—and using her status as an alien princess—Lum moves into Ataru’s home and inserts herself into his life. Caught between a strained romance with Shinobu and Lum’s expectations, Ataru continues chasing every pretty face he sees, with chaotic consequences never far behind.
