Macross 7

Thirty-five years after Lynn Minmay helped end the conflict between humans and the Zentradi, the wandering colony City 7 continues its search for a livable world. In one of its rougher districts lives Nekki Basara, guitarist and vocalist of Fire Bomber, who pours himself into songwriting with the conviction that music can reach people in ways weapons never will.

That belief is tested when a mysterious alien force attacks City 7 with an unsettling tactic: instead of destroying the fleet, they drain “spiritia,” leaving their victims vacant and zombie-like. As battles erupt, Basara repeatedly thrusts himself into the combat zone—not to fight, but to sing—determined that his voice can move allies and enemies alike.
