Long ago, the Shadow Angels descended on Earth to drain the life force of its people, only to fall into dormancy through an inexplicable miracle. Humanity endured for another 12,000 years—until, 11 years after the devastating Holy Genesis left the world in ruins, the Shadow Angels awaken and begin their assaults anew.

In response, the organization DEAVA authorizes the use of Aquarion, a powerful combat machine that can only reach its true potential when three pilots synchronize completely—heart, body, and soul. Finding rare “Element Users” capable of that unity becomes humanity’s most urgent mission. Among them is Apollo, a rough, near-wild youth raised in poverty and rumored to be the reincarnation of a legendary hero; when his best friend is taken by the Shadow Angels, he steps forward as an Aquarion pilot and joins the fight for Earth’s future.
