Samurai Jam -Bakumatsu Rock-

Ryouma Sakamoto roams the streets with an electric guitar and a stubborn devotion to rock ’n’ roll, determined to prove he can match the celebrated Shinsengumi idols the public adores. In Bakumatsu-era Japan, however, only the Shinsengumi’s “Heaven’s Songs” are permitted; composing or performing anything else is outlawed and punished severely.

Fed up with the country’s rigid control and the way people have been conditioned to accept it, Ryouma throws himself into sharing the music he believes can inspire real freedom. Teaming up with Shinsaku Takasugi and Kogoru Katsura, he searches for any chance to play, pushing forward until their sound can be heard—and discovering that their commitment to rock carries deeper meaning than they first imagined.
