Aura: Koga Maryuin's Last War

Ichirou Satou is an unremarkable high schooler who’s determined to keep his head down after an awkward middle school phase where he played the “hero” Maryuuin Kouga—an act that earned him plenty of ridicule. He’s tried to bury that part of himself and settle into a quiet routine, even if life now feels a little colorless. One night, returning to school to retrieve a forgotten textbook, he encounters a mysterious girl in an elaborate outfit.

The girl is his classmate, Ryouko Satou, and she’s caught in the same kind of delusion Ichirou once lived with, insisting she’s someone else and dressing the part. When a teacher asks Ichirou to befriend her, he refuses at first, unwilling to reopen old wounds. But as Ryouko becomes a target for bullying, Ichirou can’t look away—and finds himself stepping in to protect her, drawing on the very persona he thought he’d left behind.
