The Anthem of the Heart

Jun Naruse once loved talking, living in a world of fairy tales and happy endings. That innocence turns painful when she blurts out the truth about her father’s affair, and the fallout leaves her blamed for her parents’ divorce. Crushed by guilt, Jun comes to believe a “fairy egg” has sealed her voice to keep her from hurting anyone again—so even years later, trying to speak makes her stomach knot in fear.

In high school, Jun is unexpectedly selected to take part in a musical with three classmates: Takumi Sakagami, Natsuki Nitou, and Daiki Tasaki. She heads to the club room intending to refuse, but hesitates after hearing Sakagami sing. If words are forbidden, maybe singing can become her way through—and the first step toward expressing what’s been trapped inside her heart.
