In a looming conflict between the Dragons of Heaven and the Dragons of Earth, the dream-seer Princess Hinoto foresees humanity’s downfall. At the center of her prophecy stands 15-year-old Kamui Shirou, destined to choose between two brutal paths: join the Dragons of Earth to wipe out civilization in the name of saving the planet, or stand with the Dragons of Heaven to protect mankind.

Answering his mother’s final request, Kamui returns to Tokyo after six years away and heads to a temple guarded by Kyougo Monou, father of his childhood friends Fuuma and Kotori, intending to take the Sacred Sword kept there. When his attempt fails and the weapon is claimed by someone else, Hinoto becomes convinced Kamui is the one she has seen in her visions and dispatches the Dragons of Heaven to bring him into their ranks. Kamui resists the role forced upon him—until relentless assaults from the Dragons of Earth endanger the people closest to him, leaving him to decide what matters more: his friends’ lives or the fate of the world.
