Naota Nandaba is a seemingly average sixth grader in a town where nothing ever feels truly extraordinary. With his older brother Tasuku away in America playing baseball, Naota ends up minding what Tasuku left behind—down to his top bunk and Mamimi Samejima, Tasuku’s former girlfriend, who continues to hover around Naota in his absence.

That fragile routine shatters when Haruko Haruhara barrels into his life: a pink-haired, Vespa-riding woman who swings a bass guitar as readily as she upends reality itself. After their first encounter leaves Naota with tire marks on his back and a strange horn sprouting from his head, things only escalate—especially once Haruko moves into his parents’ house and pulls him into a bizarre, high-stakes struggle that reaches far beyond his quiet city.
