One autumn night, a solitary third-year university student wanders to a strange ramen stall tucked behind Shimogamo Shrine and encounters an eggplant-headed figure who introduces himself as the god of matrimony. The meeting forces him to look back on the last two years—spent in sour pursuit of sabotaging campus couples alongside his only companion, Ozu, whose ghoulish demeanor seems tailor-made to drag him into trouble. Determined to salvage what remains of his college life, he tries to confess to Akashi, a quiet yet warm-hearted underclassman, but hesitates—and the regret hits immediately.

In an instant, he’s flung back to the start of his university days, offered another shot at the “rose-colored” campus life he imagined. The Tatami Galaxy follows his looping, surreal attempts to remake his choices, navigating friendships, romance, and the consequences of chasing the perfect college experience.
