This Boy Suffers From Crystallization

Ayumu Tamari lives with “Crystallization Syndrome,” a condition that causes parts of his body to turn to crystal under intense stress, leaving him nearly unable to move. Crippling social anxiety keeps him from speaking to his classmates, and the constant pressure of school triggers the syndrome so often that he’s forced to repeat a year of high school.

His one refuge is his homeroom teacher, Kouya Onihara—whom Ayumu fondly calls “Oni-chan Sensei.” A crystal collector and researcher, Kouya is drawn to the strange beauty of Ayumu’s crystallization, but that attention brings its own complications. As school stress collides with the weight of a forbidden student–teacher bond, Ayumu fights to steady his emotions and avoid being consumed by crystal entirely.
