Maria the Virgin Witch

In medieval France during the Hundred Years’ War, the young witch Maria lives with her two familiars and can’t stand watching ordinary people suffer for the ambitions of armies. Determined to curb the bloodshed, she repeatedly uses her magic to interfere with battles in the hope of preserving peace.

Maria’s meddling draws the notice of heaven, and the archangel Michael is dispatched to stop her from tampering in human conflict. He issues a strict ultimatum: if Maria loses her virginity, her magic will be taken away. Branded a heretic yet unwilling to back down, she continues to challenge the war’s momentum—even as the Church moves to strip her of power and end her interference for good.
