Anne of Green Gables

Anne Shirley is an 11-year-old orphan with a vivid imagination and a quick temper, used to a life that rarely goes her way. By a twist of circumstance, she arrives at Green Gables in Avonlea, taken in by siblings Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert—who had intended to adopt a boy to help with work in the fields, and must reconsider everything when they realize a girl has been sent instead.

Based on L. M. Montgomery’s classic novel, *Anne of Green Gables* (Akage no Anne) follows Anne from ages 11 to 17 as she grows up in Avonlea, forming connections, parting from people who shape her, and gradually finding her place. As the years pass, she’s led toward a pivotal choice that will set the course of her future.
