Willem Kmetsch wagers everything on a final battle against a mysterious monster, winning at a terrible cost—he is sealed away in ice. During his long sleep, terrifying creatures known as Beasts rise across the Earth and drive humanity to extinction. When Willem awakens 500 years later, he finds himself the last of his kind in a world that has moved on without him.

Now living among the remaining races on floating islands far above the surface, Willem drifts through a quiet, solitary life of odd jobs and lingering grief. A new assignment places him in charge of a “weapon” storehouse, only for him to discover the weapons are actually young Leprechaun girls raised for war. One of them, Chtholly Nota Seniorious, accepts her role with a readiness to sacrifice herself for the sake of defeating the Beasts and preserving what peace remains.

As Willem grows closer to the Leprechauns, he becomes their steady guardian—part caretaker, part surrogate parent—supporting them as they head into battles he can no longer fight. All he can do is wait, and hope that those he’s come to cherish return safely from the monsters that once took everything from him.
