Fifteen-year-old Kino finds clarity on the road, drawn to the quiet joy of seeing new places and the many ways people choose to live. Traveling with Hermes, a motorcycle who can speak and thinks for himself, Kino moves from country to country under one guiding rule: never remain anywhere longer than three days.

Polite and unassuming at first glance, Kino is far from defenseless—carrying the handguns “Cannon” and “Woodsman” and prepared to use them when necessary.
