Hakumei and Mikochi

In a forest where people stand only a few inches tall, Hakumei and Mikochi share a cozy home built into a tree. Hakumei is a lively, tomboyish carpenter, while Mikochi is a gentle, composed tailor; their contrasting temperaments balance naturally as they settle into a peaceful life among the woods.

Days are filled with work and small adventures—sightseeing outings, quiet errands, and shopping trips to the seaside Tsumiki Marketplace. Along the way, they cross paths with a growing circle of companions, from talkative woodland creatures like Iwashi the weasel to fellow tiny folk such as the singer Konju and the inventor Sen, all adding warmth to their fairy-tale-sized world.
