Hinomaru Sumo

Professional sumo offers no weight divisions—only raw strength and technique decide who stays on top. Yet the path to turning pro comes with a strict minimum size requirement, and despite his exceptional talent and relentless work ethic, Hinomaru Ushio falls short. Still, he aims for the sport’s highest ranks, and the one route left to him is to claim the title of High School Yokozuna, awarded to the strongest competitor in the high school circuit.

With time running out to prove himself, Ushio chooses Odachi High over powerhouse Ishigami High and sets out to create a sumo club from scratch. Joined by the club’s lone devoted member, Shinya Ozeki, he fights to turn an overlooked school into a contender—knowing that every tournament could determine whether his dream of a professional career survives.
