Burning Kabaddi

Tatsuya Yoigoshi arrives at Noukin High School with a past he’d rather leave behind: he was once a nationally recognized soccer player, but has grown to resent sports and plans to focus instead on becoming a popular livestreamer. His quiet new start is disrupted when Souma Azemichi, a fellow first-year and member of the kabaddi team, barges in mid-stream to recruit him.

Pulled to the gym with little interest, Yoigoshi watches second-years Kyouhei Misumi and Shinji Date clash in kabaddi, a barehanded team contact sport whose simple rules hide a punishing pace. Even as he mocks what he sees, the match’s intensity catches him off guard—and after a mix of tempting incentives and not-so-subtle pressure, he’s pushed to decide his future the only way the club knows: by stepping into a kabaddi showdown himself.
