After leaving Kaido High School’s baseball club behind, Gorou Honda heads back to his hometown determined to keep playing. His plans quickly hit a wall when Tetsufumi Egashira’s relentless smear campaign ruins his reputation, making it nearly impossible for him to transfer into a school with an established baseball program.

With few choices left, Gorou enrolls at Seishuu High School, where his childhood friend Kaoru Shimizu is also a student. Seishuu only recently shifted from an all-girls school, and there’s still no proper boys’ baseball team—so Gorou sets out to build one himself with the school’s seven male students, all of them beginners. Chasing a spot at Koshien, he takes on the challenge of turning a group of amateurs into a team that can compete on the national stage.
