Drifting Dragons

Half a century after humanity began taking to the skies to hunt dragons, “drakers” make their living aboard specialized airships, chasing creatures as perilous as they are profitable. Dragons are deadly, but every part of them is worth something—turning each hunt into a high-stakes pursuit above the clouds.

The work comes with a cost. Drakers are shunned on the ground and rarely have anywhere to belong, while life aloft is defined by constant upkeep, steep expenses, and the challenge of tracking dragons that never behave the same way twice. Among the few ships still flying is the Quin Zaza, home to Takita, a determined newcomer; Mika, a reckless yet gifted hunter; and Jirou, a sincere young man pursuing dragons and the shadows of his past as the crew faces dangerous aerial battles that demand skill, planning, and nerve.
