Backflip!!

Shoutarou Futaba has always enjoyed athletics, but in middle school he never rose above being a bench player on the baseball team. Everything shifts when he spots a group practicing rhythmic gymnastics in the park and, on a whim, attends a tournament. Shoushukan High School’s Rhythmic Gymnastics Club delivers a performance that leaves him awestruck—yet they finish near the bottom after penalties for not having the required six-member lineup.

Determined to be part of what he saw, Shoutarou enrolls at Shoushukan and aims for the club despite starting from zero. He joins alongside Ryouya Misato, a gifted gymnast who previously placed second in a junior competition, completing the team’s roster at last. With six members in place, the club turns its focus to the Inter-High tournament, as Shoutarou races to learn the fundamentals and find his footing within the group’s demanding, synchronized routines.
