Scarlet Nexus

In 2020, a nation lives under constant siege from the Others—enigmatic creatures that descend from the sky and prey on human brains. Hope arrives with the discovery of psionics, a hormone that grants certain people extrasensory powers capable of fighting back. To harness these abilities, the country’s founder forms the Other Suppression Force (OSF), better known as the Scarlet Guardians, and puts gifted youths through harsh training to prepare them for the front lines.

As the OSF holds an induction ceremony for its standout new recruits, Yuito Sumeragi steps forward among them. The founder’s son, Yuito is driven by a childhood memory of being saved by an OSF woman and joins to repay that debt. While getting to know his new squad, he’s shaken to find that one teammate bears an uncanny resemblance to his rescuer—yet even that mystery pales beside the larger danger, as a hidden conspiracy begins to surface with the power to destabilize the entire nation.
