Dance Dance Danseur

Junpei Murao was captivated by ballet as a child after watching his sister’s recital, where a male dancer’s intense performance left a lasting impression. Yet he keeps that passion hidden, worried classmates will label him as unmanly. To fit expectations, he throws himself into pursuits that feel safer to show off—playing soccer, training in Jeet Kune Do, and aiming to follow his late father’s path toward stunt coordination.

Everything shifts when his classmate Miyako Godai catches him pulling off a striking kick that blends ballet technique with martial arts. She urges him to join her mother’s ballet studio, and though Junpei pushes back, the exhilaration he feels in dance is hard to deny. As old dreams resurface, he must confront the pressure of masculinity, decide what he’s willing to give up, and commit to ballet even if it puts friendships at risk.
