Blue Giant

After a life-changing introduction to jazz, Dai Miyamoto sets his sights on an audacious goal: becoming the world’s greatest jazz saxophonist. With only three years of experience on the horn, he leaves for Tokyo, determined to earn a place in the city’s music circles.

At a small club, Dai crosses paths with pianist Yukinori Sawabe and immediately imagines forming a band together. Yukinori’s classical background makes him skeptical of Dai’s grand ambition and short résumé—until Dai plays, and the talent is impossible to ignore. Joined by Shunji Tamada, who’s even newer to performing, they come together as JASS, a trio whose raw, distinctive sound hints at the power to jolt a stagnant jazz scene.
