Taisho Baseball Girls

Set in 1925 during the Taisho era, a time when baseball is largely a male-dominated sport in Japan, a spirited 14-year-old named Akiko is inspired to challenge societal norms. After encountering a dismissive male player who insists that women should confine themselves to domestic roles, Akiko takes it upon herself to prove him wrong. She enlists her friend Koume and together, they embark on an ambitious quest to form a girls' baseball team.

As they navigate the obstacles of gathering teammates and securing parental approval, the duo quickly learns that mastering the game is far more challenging than they anticipated. In an era where even the act of running is seen as unladylike, Akiko and Koume's journey is filled with laughter, determination, and the spirit of camaraderie as they strive to carve out their place in a sport traditionally reserved for boys.
