In February 1999, a new wave of murders unsettles Shiki Ryougi and Mikiya Kokutou. The pattern mirrors a notorious series of killings from 1995—the time when the two first crossed paths—and the resemblance stirs the violent impulse Shiki has kept buried ever since.

With suspicion falling on Shiki because of her connection to the earlier case and her supposed similarity to the culprit, she and Mikiya begin searching for whoever is truly responsible. As their investigations unfold separately, Mikiya’s worry for Shiki deepens, driving him to uncover the truth before her darker urges can take hold.
