Black★Rock Shooter (OVA)

Starting junior high, Mato Kuroi meets the quiet Yomi Takanashi and, despite Yomi’s initial surprise at Mato’s blunt honesty, the two quickly grow close. Their days become a routine of shared time, sealed by a small token: Mato gives Yomi a blue star cell phone charm identical to the one she keeps for herself.

By their second year, circumstances begin to pull them apart. Assigned to different classes, Mato starts spending more time with Yuu Koutari, a girl she knows through the basketball team, and the distance between Mato and Yomi widens until Yomi seems to vanish without a trace. In another realm, the gunslinger Black★Rock Shooter hunts the Dead Master—an opposing figure tied to her in a way that echoes Mato and Yomi’s bond. As these threads draw together, the blue star charm and Black★Rock Shooter’s battle hint at an unsettling link to Yomi’s disappearance.
