In a future where hopping between star systems is routine, high schooler Marika Katou juggles life in her school’s space yacht club with shifts at a restaurant. An unusual run-in with two customers leads to a startling revelation: her long-absent father has died—and he wasn’t just anyone, but the famed pirate known as “Gonzaemon.”

Left in his wake are the ship Bentenmaru, its seasoned crew, and one of the rare Letters of Marque that makes piracy legal. With that inheritance comes a choice Marika never expected: continue as an ordinary student, or step into the captain’s seat and take on a second life among the stars. As word spreads, government organizations and transfer student Chiaki Kurihara watch closely, testing whether Marika can uphold the Bentenmaru’s name and keep its legitimacy alive.
