Ibara Naruse, Aoi Fukasaku, and Taeko Nomura could pass for ordinary high school girls at a glance—until their route leads into a deserted Tokyo left uninhabitable by a nuclear catastrophe two decades earlier. With each step through the ruined city, the quiet streets and abandoned landmarks make it clear they’re moving through a place where normal life ended long ago.

Assigned to the Dispatch 3rd Special Force Coppelion’s “Health Care” unit, the trio searches the silent wards for survivors while receiving support from the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force and Colonel Onihei Mishima. Rescues and helicopter evacuations become their routine, but the longer they operate without protective equipment, the more a troubling question surfaces: why can they endure what should be fatal—and what does that mean about who they really are?
