In the wake of World War III, Japan is left scarred by sprawling “Blackspots”—sealed-off zones of contamination where ruined cities and countryside still fester long after the conflict’s official end in 2150. Those forced to live inside these quarantined areas begin to change, developing strange abilities ranging from shapeshifting and pyrokinesis to manipulating gravity. The altered survivors come to be known as the Needless.

Among them is Adam Blade, a fighter with exceptional regeneration and overwhelming strength. Alongside his companions, he throws himself into the struggle to bring stability back to a fractured nation, taking aim at a ruthless research organization called Simeon.
