Synopsis

Based on Hiromitsu Takeda’s manga, *Maken-Ki!* follows Takeru Ohyama, a hormone-driven teen who transfers to a newly co-ed school with no entrance exams, expecting an easy, fun high school life. That plan falls apart fast when he learns the campus runs on combat.

Students duel using mysterious weapons called Makens, items that draw out supernatural powers. While Takeru struggles to find a Maken that will respond to him, he also tries to settle into his new environment—complicated further by the constant romantic and social chaos surrounding him.
