Subaru Sumeragi, the 13th heir of the esteemed Sumeragi Clan, wields exceptional skills as an onmyouji, a practitioner of traditional Japanese spiritual arts. When tasked with exorcising a haunted construction site, he finds himself embroiled in a mystery after the sudden death of his client. The only lead points to a man who seems to evade death in inexplicable ways, raising unsettling questions about the true nature of his involvement.

As Subaru delves deeper into the case, he encounters a determined young woman who is bent on avenging her brother’s death, accusing the mysterious man of his murder. With the support of his friend Seishirou Sakurazuka and his twin sister Hokuto Sumeragi, Subaru must navigate through a web of malevolent spirits and uncover the truth behind his employer's demise, all while confronting the dark forces that seek to protect the enigmatic suspect.
