Black Rock Shooter

On her first day of junior high, Mato Kuroi crosses paths with Yomi Takanashi, a quiet, withdrawn classmate who immediately catches her attention. Determined to reach out, Mato keeps trying to strike up a conversation despite Yomi’s initial distance. A small charm on Mato’s phone—a blue bird from the book *Li’l Birds At Play*—finally gives them common ground, and the two begin to build a close friendship.

Elsewhere, in a separate world that runs in parallel to their own, those same girls appear in different forms: Mato as Black★Rock Shooter and Yomi as Dead Master. As events in one realm subtly ripple into the other, their lives become linked in ways neither of them understands, drawing them into an unfolding connection shaped by forces beyond their awareness.
