Public servants are often branded as slow and exasperating, but the daily reality inside a government office is a little more complicated. Newly hired employees Lucy Yamagami, Yutaka Hasebe, and Saya Miyoshi step into the job with very different mindsets: Lucy carries a grudge against the official who approved her comically long name, Hasebe is a laid-back master of finding opportunities to avoid work, and timid Saya is trying to survive her first workplace experience.

Their assigned mentor, Taishi Ichimiya, has been around for eight years yet can’t quite figure out how to train anyone. Between awkward guidance and stressful run-ins with demanding visitors, the trio’s expectations start to wobble—until they find support in one another and push forward, one day at a time.
