Souta Takanashi has a soft spot for anything small and adorable, so when the childlike Popura Taneshima asks him to join the staff at Wagnaria—a family restaurant in Hokkaido—he can’t bring himself to refuse. He quickly settles into a routine of doting on Popura despite her frustrations about looking so young, only to discover the rest of the workplace is anything but ordinary.

Behind the restaurant’s doors, Takanashi finds himself surrounded by an unforgettable crew: floor chief Yachiyo Todoroki, who carries a katana; stern head chef Jun Satou; the sharp-eyed and quietly sadistic sous chef Hiroomi Souma; the unapologetically lazy manager Kyouko Shirafuji; and waitress Mahiru Inami, whose fear of men tends to become painfully physical. With personalities like these colliding on every shift, daily life at Wagnaria is a steady stream of romantic tension, misunderstandings, and offbeat comedy.
