Aoba Watase is an average high schooler until a towering robot known as a Valiancer suddenly comes after him. He’s rescued by his enigmatic classmate, Hina Yumihara, who reveals that both she and the attacker are from the future. With no time to spare, Hina sends Aoba 70 years ahead to keep him alive.

Aoba reappears in the middle of a battlefield, seated in the cockpit of a Valiancer called Luxon as the Free Pact Alliance (FPA) clashes with the Zogilia Republic. When he demonstrates an unusually strong compatibility with FPA pilot Dio Weinberg, the two execute a “coupling,” sharing sensations and experience to sharpen their performance in combat. Though Aoba survives the encounter, the FPA ship Cygnus takes him into custody for questioning—while he worries about getting back to his own time, he’s already being pulled into a war with the fate of the world at stake.
