Nanako Usami is an ordinary high schooler in the quiet town of Nagarekawa when her uncle, a city hall employee, recruits her for a small promotional stage event at the local zoo. Nervous but willing to help, she heads to the show and discovers that her high school senpai, Yukari Kohinata, is on the program as well.

With Yukari’s guidance, Nanako makes it through the performance, and the unexpected success sparks a new idea: the two team up as “Nagarekawa Girls,” a hometown idol duo formed to bring attention to Nagarekawa.
