Sakura Quest

Fresh out of college and eager to trade the countryside for the promise of Tokyo, Yoshino Koharu finds her plans stalling after an unproductive job search. A surprising part-time offer finally arrives—serving as “queen” of the quirky “Kingdom of Chupakabura,” a fading local attraction in the agricultural town of Manoyama. When she gets there, Yoshino learns the invitation was a mix-up, the result of being mistaken for a celebrity, but with few alternatives she reluctantly accepts the role.

Working alongside Manoyama’s tourism board and local residents, Yoshino helps launch a string of initiatives meant to spotlight the town’s culture and natural appeal. Sakura Quest follows a close community trying to breathe new life into a place in decline while holding onto the traditions and relationships that give it its character.
