After Sarajevo is annihilated by a homemade nuclear weapon, the “war on terror” spirals into a new global reality. Major democracies harden into total surveillance states, while the developing world is consumed by successive waves of genocide.

Amid the unraveling of the international order, suspicion centers on a mysterious American named John Paul, believed to be linked to the collapse.
