Sword Gai The Animation

When humanity’s prayers went unanswered in a time of crisis, a demon’s blade was called upon instead. That “salvation” arrived as Zsoltgewinn—an infamous sword with an insatiable thirst for blood that turned on even those who summoned it. Though sealed away for years, the weapon resurfaces in the hands of the Shoshidai, an organization devoted to securing cursed artifacts, until its corrupting influence drives administrator Takuma Miura to escape with the sword and unleash its violence once more.

Elsewhere, another demonic weapon, Shiryu, destroys the Ogata family: Gai’s father is killed, and his mother takes her own life shortly after giving birth. Left in the forest gripping the blade, the infant is found by the blacksmith Amon and raised at the forge, where Gai grows up fixated on the sword and determined to master smithing. After a tragic accident costs him an arm, he receives a replacement unlike any other—Shiryu reforged into a new limb—and must fight to restrain the weapon’s murderous impulses as Zsoltgewinn’s rampage spreads.
